This
was made for someone special over a period of about six months. Each piece
of is hand made. The oak for the box was salvaged from palettes and hand
planed. The joints were hand cut and all the metalware: hinges, straps,
and corners were made
from sheet and filed to shape and pierced by hand.
Even the heads of the rivets holding everything on were hand sanded and
buffed, as they were blackened to begin with. Now it is rotting away a
few miles from the equator and in a few years will be a heap of rust and
dust.
