This is a crossbow built from recycled
materials. The prod is yew picked up as garden waste, trigger is steel
rod from a from a grating. The stirrup is forged from from rebar The
stock is a piece of wood (poplar ?) found in the street. The roller nut
is a scrap of grey plastic left from something cut with a hole saw. The
string is waxed linen found in my aunts basement, and inlay is scraps
of black walnut. The bow is 24" and was steamed and bent to shape. It
has a 100 lb draw and while it works its range and power are not at all
spectacular. When using a simple wooden prod, it would probably be
better to make one of greater length.
