My Phd thesis
My doctoral thesis deals with the issues of visual perception and nonphotorealistic rendering. How can models of visual perception and interactive techniques that use eye movements be used to design algorithms that create better more art-like images. ~3mb(pdf)

My first (and only) stab at translation from the Italian. A short story by the well know Italian humorist Giovanni Guareschi, written while he was interred by the Germans during WWII. Showing his characteristic combination of  humor and sadness. A truly beautiful story, hopefully only moderately marred by my amateurish translation.

La Favola Di Natale

(Travel) Writings
I'm not too much of a writer, the little I do tends to be personal (i.e. melodramatic diary entries). But I do keep pretty obsessive notes when I travel, some of which are here, I may add older ones as I get around to transcribing them.  I certainly found being in all these places entertaining but how interesting the accounts are you'll have to decide for yourself.  Unusually, I bowed to reality, and did not format these pages in the standard color scheme.  I should mention by way of disclaimer that all of these are my feelings and thoughts at given  points in time, I make no claims for them being transcendent  truths or even vaguely well thought out.  However they quite nicely show how grumpy I can get on vacation (if you happen to be thinking of going somewhere with me).

Not my writing, mostly. Some fragments of family history my father is working on assembling. I've put this up  mostly so anyone searching online for the names involved will find them.

mom.txt Bit of history of my grandmother  on my fathers side and her family from Itri in Italy
